BECOMES AIB CERTIFIED July 26, 2016 (Louisville, KY) – The American Institute of Baking, now known as AIB International, is a not-for-profit corporation, founded by the North American wholesale and retail baking industries in 1919 as a technology transfer center for bakers and food processors. Although AIB’s history has been traditionally linked with wholesale and retail baking, the Institute currently serves many segments of the food processing, distribution, foodservice, and retail industries worldwide.
The process of being certified is not an easy task and is quite the undertaking. There is much training that has to be done in the form of writing out all of your policies and procedures related to Sanitation, Food Defense, Recall and Traceability, Pest Control, Blood borne-Pathogens, Allergens, Chemicals used in the warehouse and Preventative Maintenance. In laymen’s terms, it is the cleanliness of your facility and the processes in which you take to handle food products. ADS has always adhered to the standards put out by AIB, but it had never been requested by a customer that they go through the process of being certified. While at UPS he held various management positions in sales and operations. Brian served nine years as an officer in the United States Marine Corps as a helicopter pilot prior to joining UPS.
